Hello from San Francisco! We have been on the receiving end of buckets of rain, but the the sun is starting to shine. And Summit is just six weeks away!
I recently had the opportunity to speak on stage at IBM Think in San Francisco (sorry about the rain, IBM) as well as participate on a panel with Ginni Rometty, Jim Zemlin, Stephen O’Grady, Andre Fuetsch, and Dr. Marcelo Labre. There’s nothing I love more than discussing how open source is driving innovation, and how the future of the cloud will be built on open source technologies. In fact, these are just a sampling of the conversations we will have at Summit this April.
Summit Update: Standard registration ends TODAY
This week we announced even more amazing keynote speakers at Summit from companies that include Charles Schwab, Comcast, IBM, SAP, T-Mobile, and more. Standard registration ends today, and after today the price increases by $200 — so register now and check out the full schedule later.
Summit Update: We still need sponsors
We have sold out of Diamond and Bronze sponsorships — huge thanks to Comcast, VMware, and all of our Bronze sponsors: Altoros, anynines, atomist, Datadog, Influx Data, LogDNA, Magenic, Stark & Wayne, Synopsis and Wavefront! We still have one Platinum sponsorship, six Gold sponsorships, four Silver and a few add-on marketing opportunities left.
If you’re not convinced that you should sponsor Summit, please check out my recent blog post on the many reasons why you should sponsor an open source conference. Demonstrate your commitment to creating the future of business by sponsoring– own the discussion and feed the community. Download the prospectus and reach out to Kimberly Andrews to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
Summit Update: Diversity and Inclusivity
Our semi-annual Diversity Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 4th at Summit — but this year’s will be a bit different. Read more about how and why we are broadening our definition of diversity. I ask two things of you: Consider co-sponsoring this event with IBM. And spread the word to your community that we are seeking self-identified diverse panelists. Deadline to submit is March 1st.
Summit Update: User Day and Contributor Summit
What makes Cloud Foundry great? The people who use the technology and the people who make the technology. We have two special events at Summit this year: The brand new Contributor Summit is a welcoming space for new contributors to learn about the technology and build new relationships. And we also have the day-long User unconference again. User Day brings together Cloud Foundry end users across a variety of industries to share ideas, best practices, and lessons learned. Register for User Day here.
