Welcome to the EMC Dojo!

by January 22, 2016

The EMC Cloud Foundry Dojo is officially opening today! To learn a bit more about EMC’s Dojo, we brought in Victor Fong, the Engineering Director of EMC Cambridge Dojo and Cloud Platform Team, as well as Megan, a Dojo software engineer.

How did you get started with Cloud Foundry?
Megan: I was a developer at EMC working on Atmos and ViPR ECS. When I heard about the Cloud Foundry EMC dojo, I was immediately intrigued to contribute to the best PaaS in the industry.
Victor: Before joining EMC, I was an engineering director of a legacy Java Enterprise Application in a traditional technology company. When I first entered the Cloud Foundry Dojo in San Francisco, I was deeply impressed with the passion and energy that each person shared.

Why Thursday February 4, 2016 is an Important Day for Cloud Foundry

by January 20, 2016

Who doesn’t love a great meetup, right? Make it Cloud Foundry Meet Up – and count me in. I am there!
There have been Cloud Foundry Meet Ups since 2011 and perhaps there were informal ones even earlier than that. There have been Cloud Foundry Meet Ups in New York City since 2013. However, for whatever reason, there has never been a New Jersey Cloud Foundry Meet Up. What’s up with that? There has been a severe lack of love for the Garden State. Some may even call it disrespect.
We had all run out of good excuses for why this was the case. The answer was always New York City if the question was about a Meet Up. Well, you know what. NYC =/ NJ. While sometimes getting into New York City is easy, many times it is not.

CloudFoundry Shanghai Meetup in December 2015 – A Recap and Perspective

by January 15, 2016

In 2015, I visited China three times. More recently in early December and previously in August and for the first time ever in early March. I have practically seen most important parts of the vast capital Beijing over the four visits, as it was also the city I visited the most. While I would highly recommend visiting Beijing in August rather than the other two other times I was there, a visit to China in general should be in everyone’s radar if you are into Cloud technology. The Cloud is taking off so fast there that opportunities seem to be at every corners.

So it was not surprising to me that the CloudFoundry (CF) organization decided to hold its first CF-Summit Asia in China.
