It’s been a busy 2017 for the Foundation, as I’m sure it’s been for all of you. This year, I’d like to give you a look inside key things our team and community are working on. Here’s a peek back at the first quarter of 2017:

Cloud Foundry Certified Developer Program
We formally launched the Cloud Foundry Certified Developer program – to help solve for the global gap in skilled developers. It’s a good time to be a developer – and with our new program, we want to help you get the training you need for the next step in your career journey. Here’s what the industry had to say.

Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley, June 13-15
Not only do we have a fantastic diverse lineup, but we received an amazing 385 speaking proposals for Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley. We have added an ecosystem sponsorship and are still looking for sponsors. Gold and Platinum sponsors will receive a discount code they can share with two other levels: Bronze and Startup. Reach out to Scott Monson or me for more details.

Foundation Board Updates
Our last Cloud Foundry Foundation Board meeting was held February 13th. We welcomed three new board members: Dr. Andreas Nolte, Thomas Di Giacomo and Paul Fazzone, who was also appointed Foundation Treasurer. Additionally, Don Boulia has joined the board on behalf of IBM, a seat previously held by Damion Heredia.

Open Service Broker API
In 2016 we began a collaboration with Fujitsu, Google, IBM, Pivotal, RedHat and SAP that resulted in the creation of the Open Service Broker API. This project makes the Cloud Foundry Service Broker API an industry-standard way to connect services to a cloud native platform. I am looking forward to the amazing things this collaboration will create.

We are on track for an exciting second quarter here at the Foundation, and I look forward to seeing you all at the Cloud Foundry Summit in Santa Clara on June 13th.
