Proximetry Joins Cloud Foundry Foundation

Embraces Cloud Foundry platform for large-scale IoT implementations

SAN DIEGO; March 24, 2016 – Proximetry today announced that it is joining the Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the industry-standard platform for cloud applications. With its comprehensive suite of device management capabilities, Proximetry seeks to open up new possibilities for IoT solution providers by building on the Cloud Foundry environment to extend device and messaging protocols crucial to the IoT world.

“Proximetry is excited to formally join the vibrant Cloud Foundry community and bring our microservice-based platform to the industry’s fastest growing platform for multi-cloud computing,” said Tracy Trent, Proximetry CEO. “We’ve seen firsthand that the most innovative organizations are adopting Cloud Foundry, and many of our clients are embracing Cloud Foundry as the trusted platform and community designed for the enterprise.”

Over the past 12 months, Proximetry has worked with launch customers to refine its Cloud Foundry implementation and deploy its solution into customer cloud, virtual private cloud, and hybrid cloud models. The deployed solutions are available today from both Proximetry and some of its solution partners. Focusing on large-scale problems in today’s Internet of Things, Proximetry’s device management has reached edge devices in transportation, utilities, rail, and others to catch critical data to understand, manage, and further develop these networks.

As a Cloud Foundry Foundation member, Proximetry looks to collaborate with more organizations building systems and applications using Cloud Foundry as the underlying platform.

“The applications that enterprises are developing on Cloud Foundry often represent the next generation of digital experiences,” said Cloud Foundry CEO Sam Ramji. “Cloud Foundry makes it easy for software teams to build and iterate new services with ease. Proximetry is able to support a wide array of devices on the edge while utilizing the platform for communications. We’re excited to have them on board.”

Proximetry has been able to scale both vertically by managing devices in global Fortune 500 environments and mid-market enterprises, as well as horizontally by supporting a wide-array of semiconductor platforms and protocols. This is made possible by utilizing the cloud-resident microservices within the Cloud Foundry environment.
