Cloud Foundry Announces Atos’ Ursula Morgenstern and UK Government’s Liam Maxwell as Keynote Speakers at European Summit

Greater diversity in IT, open source technology in government to be presented

SAN FRANCISCO Sept. 21,  2016 Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the industry-standard multi-cloud platform, today announced two new keynote speakers at its European Summit, September 26-28, 2016 at the Congress Center Messe in Frankfurt: Ursula Morgenstern, global head of consulting and systems integration at Atos, and Liam Maxwell, national technology adviser to the UK Government. They join an impressive collection of speakers from global organizations including Allianz, Fidelity, SAP, Volkswagen and the Dutch Government to discuss digital transformation and multi-cloud.

“We are thrilled to host Ursula and Liam at our European Summit,” said Sam Ramji, CEO, Cloud Foundry Foundation. “Ursula is a widely respected leader who has a strong track record of driving strategic direction and business growth at Atos. Liam set the standard for digital government-to-consumer strategy and practice, and continues to support emerging technologies and open source throughout the UK government. They each bring unique value to our community and I look forward to hearing them speak.”

Liam Maxwell is the National Technology Adviser for the UK Government. His role involves improving government technology within the Department of Culture, Media and Sports while supporting emerging technologies and creating an environment for digital enterprises to flourish. Prior to his adviser role, he was Chief Technology Officer for the Government from 2012 to 2016. Maxwell is scheduled to speak at Summit on Tuesday, September 27 at 9:40 – 10:00am.

Ursula Morgenstern is Global Head of Consulting & Systems Integration for Atos, a leader in digital services with pro forma annual revenue of circa €12 billion and circa 100,000 employees in 72 countries. She joined the company in 2002 through the acquisition of KPMG Consulting and has more than 20 years’ experience working in the technology space including software industry, IT Consultancy and IT Service. Prior to her current role, Morgenstern was CEO of Atos in the UK and Ireland. Morgenstern is scheduled to speak at Summit on Wednesday, September 28 at 9:20 – 9:40am.

Cloud Foundry Summit will bring more than 600 businesses, developers and vendors from across Europe to share best practices and hear senior executives from leading organizations discuss how Cloud Foundry has helped them build and deploy robust, resilient and flexible cloud native applications across multiple cloud platforms.

“I’m looking forward to providing perspective on open source technology trends in government for the Cloud Foundry community,” said Maxwell. “Not unlike the business world, the government sector requires a clear understanding of these developments to drive better skills that enable proper investments in appropriate technologies.”

“I’m thrilled to be a speaker among so many top executives at Cloud Foundry Summit,” said Morgenstern. “Diversity is a huge business enabler, as Atos has experienced in driving the Olympics to a global connected experience through cloud, analytics and mobile. I look forward to addressing the importance of greater diversity in IT in my talk, and discuss how I see the cloud being a catalyst in that transformation.”

Attendees can also participate in two full days of training on microservices and IoT development in a continuous delivery environment. There will be three pre-conference training sessions from which to choose:
