Cloudsoft Joins Cloud Foundry Foundation

Provides Cloud Foundry Developers With Open Standard Tools for Integrating Rich Set of Cloud Foundry Services

SAN FRANCISCO, CA –(April 23, 2015) – Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the leading open source cloud native application platform, today announced that Cloudsoft, the leading open source application management company, is joining the independent open source organization. In joining Cloud Foundry Foundation, Cloudsoft will be integrating their experience of modeling, deploying and managing complex applications with the Cloud Foundry platform.

“Cloud Foundry is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for enterprises. Our Apache Brooklyn integration with Cloud Foundry provides these enterprises with an open standard way of accessing legacy services and creating or consuming modern services,” said Duncan Johnston-Watt, CEO of Cloudsoft. “We have already contributed our Brooklyn Bridge — no pun intended — to the Cloud Foundry community and we look forward to developing this with help from the community.”

In addition to the integration with Cloud Foundry, Apache Brooklyn is gaining significant traction enhancing existing cloud management platforms such as Virtustream’s xStream platform. It also underpins an exciting new Apache licensed project Clocker — the Docker cloud maker.

“Cloudsoft and the Apache Brooklyn project are making significant progress in their efforts to streamline the development and operations of applications,” said Sam Ramji, CEO of Cloud Foundry. “We’re looking forward to their contributions to optimize Apache Brooklyn and Cloud Foundry to automate a broad range of services within the leading open source PaaS.”

Cloudsoft and other members will join the Cloud Foundry Foundation at the Cloud Foundry Summit on May 11 and 12. This event will bring together more than 1,500 application developers, IT operations experts, technical managers, business leaders, service providers and project contributors in an independent forum to accelerate and advance the Cloud Foundry open source project.
