Description

It was discovered that LibTIFF incorrectly handled certain malformed images. If a user or automated system were tricked into opening a specially crafted image, a remote attacker could crash the application, leading to a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code with user privileges.

CVEs contained in this USN include: CVE-2019-14973, CVE-2019-17546.

    • All versions prior to 0.136.0
  • CF Deployment
    • All versions prior to 12.5.0

Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.136.0 or greater
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 12.5.0 or greater
