Description

It was discovered that DBus incorrectly handled messages with invalid type signatures. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to cause DBus to crash, resulting in a denial of service. (CVE-2022-42010) It was discovered that DBus was incorrectly validating the length of arrays of fixed-length items. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to cause DBus to crash, resulting in a denial of service. (CVE-2022-42011) It was discovered that DBus incorrectly handled the body DBus message with attached file descriptors. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to cause DBus to crash, resulting in a denial of service. (CVE-2022-42012) Update Instructions: Run `sudo pro fix USN-5704-1` to fix the vulnerability. Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.145 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.331.0 or greater
  • Jammy Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.44 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 23.0.0 or greater, upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.44 or greater, upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.145 or greater, and upgrade Xenial Stemcells to 621.330 or greater
