Description

It was discovered that Vim makes illegal memory calls when pasting brackets in Ex mode. An attacker could possibly use this to crash Vim, access or modify memory, or execute arbitrary commands. This issue affected only Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 (CVE-2022-0392) It was discovered that Vim makes illegal memory calls when making certain retab calls. An attacker could possibly use this to crash Vim, access or modify memory, or execute arbitrary commands. (CVE-2022-0417) Update Instructions: Run `sudo pro fix USN-5801-1` to fix the vulnerability. Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below.

The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.171 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.350.0 or greater
  • Jammy Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.80 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 25.0.0 or greater, upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.171 or greater, and upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.80 or greater
