One of world’s leading car manufacturers relies on Cloud Foundry for multi-cloud deployments
Santa Clara, May 23, 2016 – Volkswagen Group has joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the industry-standard multi-cloud platform, as a silver member. Volkswagen joins GE, HPE, IBM, Pivotal, SAP, Verizon and over 50 other technology innovators as a Foundation member. Through its membership, Volkswagen will be an active member in the Cloud Foundry community, as well as offer guidance on how Cloud Foundry can continue to innovate to address the quickly changing needs of the automotive industry.
“Volkswagen is rapidly adopting Cloud Foundry as its multi-cloud platform to quickly respond to evolving customer engagement needs and behaviors,” said Dr. Roy Sauer, Head of Volkswagen Group IT Architecture and Technology. “Cloud Foundry’s reliability across multi-cloud environments is among the many reasons why Cloud Foundry is the platform we chose for rapid application development and global deployment. We are joining the foundation to help ensure we can influence the project going forward.”
Cloud Foundry has been developed through the collective effort of Pivotal, IBM, EMC, SAP, HPE and worldwide leaders in manufacturing, telecommunications and financial services. Cloud Foundry offers a robust services ecosystem and simple integration to existing technologies.
“The company’s commitment to Cloud Foundry guarantees a consistent user experience on any public or private cloud infrastructure and it ensures multi-cloud options for rapid application delivery and innovation,” said Sam Ramji, CEO of Cloud Foundry Foundation.
