Description

Hiroki Kurosawa discovered that curl incorrectly handled HSTS support when certain hostnames included IDN characters. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause curl to use unencrypted connections. This issue only affected Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 22.10. (CVE-2022-43551) It was discovered that curl incorrectly handled denials when using HTTP proxies. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause curl to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2022-43552) Update Instructions: Run `sudo pro fix USN-5788-1` to fix the vulnerability. Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below.

The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.171 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.348.0 or greater
  • Jammy Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.80 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 24.7.0 or greater, upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.80 or greater, and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.171 or greater
