We Need You to Nominate Track Co-chairs for Summit! Deadline: 11/6

It is that time again! We are looking to the Cloud Foundry community to nominate co-chairs for Cloud Foundry North America Summit 2019. Nominations close on Tuesday, November 6, at 11:59 PM PST.

Please nominate people who will represent the best interest of the Cloud Foundry community and who are passionate about the greatest benefit to the ecosystem. The community will vote on the nominees between November 7 and 13, 2018 to select the final co-chairs by November 20, 2018.

Nominate the community member to the category to which they are best suited to co-chair. Include their contact information (email, slack/twitter handle), if available.

You may submit nominations for multiple categories. If you would like to submit multiple people for the same category, you will need to submit a secondary form.

What are the tracks for Cloud Foundry North America Summit 2019?

The tracks for the Cloud Foundry North America Summit 2019 are:

  • Cloud Foundry 101: Getting Started with Cloud Foundry
  • Cloud Foundry for Business
  • Cloud Foundry for Developers
  • Cloud Foundry for Operators
  • Experiments and Extensions
  • Project Updates
  • User Stories

What is a CFP co-chair?

The Cloud Foundry Foundation seeks CFP (Call For Papers) co-chairs for each track at Cloud Foundry Summit. Each co-chair will review the speaking proposal submitted to their specific track and select the talks with highest value for attendees, thereby helping shape the content that makes Cloud Foundry Summit a successful event.

What are the responsibilities of a CFP co-chair?

The co-chairs for each track will receive the list of submissions that the community submits for the track they’re assigned to review. The co-chairs will work together to carefully review and select the topics that are deemed educational, informational, and useful for the attendees at Summit. It varies based on the number of submissions each track receives, but based on the feedback we received from our past co-chairs, please expect to spend about 3-5 hours to review the submissions.

What are the benefits of being a CFP co-chair?

The co-chairs may choose to be the emcees (master of ceremonies) of the tracks and may consider:

  • A complimentary conference pass to the event
  • Welcoming attendees and introducing the track
  • Introducing speakers to attendees in the room
  • Running interference during Q&A to ensure a proper end time
  • Thanking the speaker after the session

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to drop me a note via email or on slack.

Get nominating!
