Tell Your Story at the Diversity Luncheon at Cloud Foundry Summit in Philadelphia!

Since its inception, the Cloud Foundry Foundation and extended community have strived to uphold values of diversity and inclusivity across all of our activities — from technical development to event production to messaging and communications. Being inclusive is one of our key values as a community. That means we welcome immigrants, support gender equity and elevate different perspectives on how to tackle unconscious bias. As a team, we are always in conversation about how we can do better.

In years past, the Diversity Luncheon at Cloud Foundry Summits has featured a motley line-up of women-identified panelists from around the world. Women’s voices matter. The tech world and the open source community are still male-dominated fields, and bearing witness to women’s unique experiences in these industries is crucial to paving a new path.

Broadening Our Definition of Diversity

We also recognize that gender is not the only marker of diversity in this industry that bears discussion. That is why we have changed the process and line-up for the Cloud Foundry Summit Diversity Luncheon on Thursday, April 4th at 12:15 PM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If diversity is being asked to the party, but inclusivity is being asked to dance — then we are asking if you’d like to dance with us. If you self-identify as “diverse” in our industry — whether that is based on ability, ethnicity, mental health, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, immigration status, or any other experience that varies from the “norm” — and you would like to share your experience as a panelist during the luncheon, please apply.

What Are We Asking From You?

The format for this event will be similar to past Diversity Luncheons. You can watch the full program at Cloud Foundry Summit in Boston 2018 and Cloud Foundry Summit in Basel 2018 to get a sense of how the panel unfolds during the luncheon.

After a brief introduction by Foundation staff, the panel will assemble on stage and a moderator from the community will facilitate a dialogue with panelists about your experience. You can share whatever you’d like about your professional experience and be as open as you’re comfortable being.

We cannot be what we cannot see — and we want to see you and hear your experience to paint a full picture of how many amazing people comprise the Cloud Foundry community.

Submit Your Story to the CFP

Fill out the CFP here. We will choose five panelists from our applicants. Submissions are due Friday, March 1st, 2019 by 11:59 PM PST.
